November 08, 2017: Earliest date for the affixing of signatures on candidate filing forms for an office on the ballot of 2018. Earliest date for candidates to file for an office on the ballot of 2018.
December 31, 2017: Last day to change political party affiliation and be eligible to vote in that political party affiliation's upcoming primary election. Since the 31st falls on a Sunday you would need to have it in the office by December 28, 2017 at 4:00 pm. ** NOTE ** Not all parties will be on the ballot in the primary election
If you are 18 before the General Election, November 06, 2018, you can register to vote.
January 30, 2018 at 4:00 pm; Candidate filing deadline, last day to file nomination papers for candidates who must run in primary election.
Last day to register to vote is April 23, 2018, also if you change your party at this time it makes you ineligible to vote in the Primary election.
You can call at this time to request absentee ballots. It is a 2 step process. You receive an application first and after the application is sent back to the clerk’s office the ballot is then mailed to you. Applications are due back no later than May 15th and ballots are due back by election day.
Absentee machine will be open starting April 27th in the Grayson location of the County Clerk’s office.
House Bill 319 went into effect April 11, 2017 and one of the changes made was to voting on absentee machine in person. Any person who due to age, disability, or illness will be unable to go to the polls on election day may now come and vote in person at the clerk’s office any time the absentee machine is open for business.
